Catherine MacDonald, RN is Of Counsel with the Sacramento office of La Follette Johnson.

Catherine has been a Registered Nurse since 1983 and an attorney since 1996. In 2002, Catherine was one of the founding attorneys of the Sacramento office of La Follette Johnson, and her practice focused on the defense of medical malpractice, elder abuse and employment law claims. She then moved to another national law firm practicing similar law, until deciding to leave the traditional practice of law in 2011. She went to work for Dignity Health and spent the next ten years in the compliance department, working to enact and enforce an effective compliance and privacy program. In 2021, she retired from Dignity Health. Rejoining La Follette Johnson in 2023, Catherine focuses on medical malpractice claims.

Catherine enjoys a variety of activities including gardening, biking, hiking and walking. She loves spending time with her 97 year old mother, three grown children and their families, including three darling grandchildren. She took up watercolor painting in 2022, but still struggles to produce a painting she wants to frame and hang. She will keep trying.
