Breyon J. Davis (“Bree”) is a civil litigation attorney skilled at anticipating opposing counsel’s arguments and addressing pivotal concerns at every stage of proceedings in state and federal courts. With over 16 years of licensed litigation experience, Ms. Davis has proven courtroom success trying mass tort litigation, wage/hour disputes, discrimination claims and business tort matters. She has recently joined La Follette, Johnson, DeHaas, Fesler & Ames as a Senior Associate, where she now represents clients in medical malpractice defense.
Ms. Davis built her background and training through prosecution at the civil and criminal level, a judicial clerkship with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, advocacy with the Los Angeles and Sacramento County District Attorneys’ Offices and civil defense litigation in business, commercial, employment (plaintiff and defense) and real estate matters.
Before opening her solo practice in 2010, Bree drafted responses to Writs of Habeas Corpus on behalf of the Attorney General’s Office of California, composed bench briefs for Sacramento County Superior Court judges on the legal execution of Probation Revocation Hearings, conducted Preliminary Hearings and provided legal and diversity insight for West Sacramento’s City Council and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s Advisory Committee.
Ms. Davis graduated from Southwestern Law School in 2007, where she participated in moot court and mock trial, received the Black Law Students Association’s (“BLSA”) “Best Oralist in the Western Region” award in Moot Court Competitions, held a BLSA Scholarship and served as BLSA President. Bree holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle, in Political Science and Theater Performance, and a master’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Los Angeles, with a concentration in American Government.
