Sarah J. Demers is an associate at La Follette Johnson, where her practice focuses on the defense of hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice and general liability litigation. She manages all phases of civil litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, and mediation.
Before joining La Follette Johnson, Ms. Demers practiced for more than a decade in complex civil litigation on the plaintiff side, representing clients in product liability, medical negligence, ERISA, and insurance bad-faith actions in both state and federal courts nationwide. She has extensive experience briefing and arguing dispositive motions and appeals, and has represented clients in significant cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and multiple state appellate courts.
Ms. Demers earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where she served as a mentor and moot-court coach, and her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Minnesota. She is admitted to practice in California and Minnesota.
